Online Dating

          Did you feel amazed the first time you heard of online dating? I guess your answer is yes. But I think it’s no more amazing to you now, because it has become part of our daily life.

         Online dating has become so popular and more and more people have been getting used to this idea. I have heard of many stories about online dating. I know some friends who have brushed up her/his computer skills hoping to find true love online. I have two friends who have experienced successful online dating and both have got into marriages with their online dating boyfriends.

         All I have mentioned above has evoked my interest in online dating. Being so curious, I asked lots of people online what has brought them into online dating.  The reasons are varied, but mainly the four below:

  1. They are always busy with their work and don’t have so much spare time for walking in the street or going into clubs or restaurants.
  2. Online dating is more convenient than normal dating. You can meet people without even having to leave the house. All you need is a computer with internet access and a webcam. Moreover you can feel so relaxed with nobody around.
  3. Being lonely with few friends around to pass the time. And some people have talked about their reasons for being lonely. Some people are shy and unsociable. They always feel uneasy making friends in reality. Some people are couch potatoes.  Their friends can’t stand one side visiting and sticking around the house and stop being their friends. Some people have experienced unhappy friendships in real life and find it hard to speak to people in reality.
  4. Being curious about the new type of dating. Some of these people have lots of dating experience. What’s more, they are tired of dating in parks, clubs or restaurants and are really ready for new excitement. Therefore online dating is another kind of new fashion for them.

5.      Most of people go online dating keep in contact, but quite a few of them get into successful marriage.
